Choosing an eye massager
We sell one, and we would rather you bought the right thing once. This is the short version of what these devices do, what they do not, and what actually separates a good one from a cheap one.
What it actually does
Three things over a fifteen minute session: warmth, vibration, and air compression from six airbags that inflate and deflate in sequence so the mask squeezes and releases around your eye sockets and temples. Then it switches itself off.
What it does not do
It does not treat anything. Until August 2026 this site told customers an eye massager relieves migraine pain, helps dry eyes by stimulating tear production, clears sinus pressure, lifts dark circles, reduces wrinkles by promoting collagen, and that the massage releases toxins. It also suggested using one over fresh botox and filler work. None of that was evidenced, some of it was untrue, and the last one was advice that could have caused somebody a problem. It has all been removed and nothing has been written in its place.
So: this is a comfort device. If your eyes are persistently dry, sore or watering, or you get frequent headaches, that is an optometrist or a doctor, not a gadget.
What separates a good one from a cheap one
A stated temperature that is held constant rather than climbing while you wear it. Ours runs four levels topping out at a steady 38 to 40 degrees celsius, roughly a wrung out face cloth.
Whether it does air compression at all. The cheapest masks only vibrate, and compression is a noticeably different sensation that reaches the temples as well as the eye area.
An automatic shut off, so you can stop paying attention. And whether it folds, because a mask that folds into a drawer or a case gets used, and one that does not tends to live in a cupboard.
